Basic Step by Step Eye Make Up Tutorial for Beginners Part 1 : Eye Zones and Products Used

I have been learning eye makeup from all you tube make up gurus and other lovely bloggers around here. Not that I am a pro but I have been getting requests from friends and my lovely followers to do some basic eye makeup and step by step tutorial of the same. The post would be really long as I am sharing all I know in detail. I have taken a pretty pink eye shadow from INGLOT that can be worn for a casual day out.

First let me show a picture with markings of the eye zones so that it will be easy when I use all those terms during the tutorial.

Brow Bone - The bone you feel right beneath your eye brows where it curves is the brow bone. We highlight this space with a light colored white/beige eye shadow. MAC Ricepaper / INGLOT Pearl 393 are quite popular highlighter shades.

Crease - Other wise called the Eye Socket is where your lid ends. For basic eye makeup we would be applying the eye shadow just till the crease.

Above Crease - This is the area below the brow bone and above the crease.

Upper Lash Line -  Upper lash line is where we usually apply the liners. It is the line close to the upper lashes.

Water Line - Water line is the inner area which is much above the lower lash line. I usually apply my kajal only on my water line and not the lower lash line.

Lower Lash Line - The area right under the water line and the lashes. Some times you add some color here or just smudge the kajal to gain all the attraction towards your eyes.

Tear Duct - Inner corner of the eyes are called tear duct. Tear ducts can also be highlighted like the brow bones using a Q tip.

Having a rough idea of all the above terms would do and as we use them often we will get used to all the terms and it helps better understanding as well.

Here are the products we need to do basic eye make up.

1. Eye Shadow Brush / Fingers
2. Sanitizer [if you are using your fingers]
3. Moisturizer
4. Compact / Loose Powder
5. Q- Tip / Ear Bud
6. Good Base [I have used MAC Hush]
7. Eye Shadow of your choice  [ I have used INGLOT Pearl 449]
9. Mascara [MAC Zoom Lash Mascara]
10. Eye liner - any thing would do pencil, liquid, gel, etc [ I have used Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner]
11. Eye Brow Pencil [Estee Lauder Brow Pencil]

I thought of doing the entire tutorial in one post but that seemed to go very lengthy. So I have split it  in to two parts. Part 2 will be up tomorrow :)
