Basic Step By Step Eye Make Up Tutorial for Beginners Part 2 : Tutorial

Knowing a little about the eye zones and being prepared with pretty much all what we need for a basic eye make up, here is a detailed step by step tutorial on how to do a casual eye make up. I have used a pink eye shadow that is safe for any time of the day and also would look good on almost all skin tones. I have used the shade INGLOT Pearl 449, you can choose any color you are comfortable with browns, pinks or any similar colors.

Step 1

Cleanse the face well and moisturize with your regular moisturizer. Don't put too much of anything as all we need is a soft and supple skin that is ready for a make up. I do not use a concealer but if you have really heavy dark circles then you might need a concealer to conceal them and give an even skin.

Step 2

Take a good eye shadow base [I am using MAC Hush] and pat it on the lids, above the crease till brow bone. Base is something that will make the eye shadow's color show better and make the eye shadow stay longer. Few colors show better even without a base or as you keep patting more eye shadow and build the color !

Some times your foundation can be used as a base as well ! If you do not want to spend for a base then use a good foundation on your lids :) I usually use the eye shadow base on top of my foundation (as I apply foundation all over my face), however here I have used it on my bare eyes.

Step 3

Spread the base evenly all over the lids till the brow bone. Some base like MAC paint pots dry pretty quickly so you have spread them evenly as soon as you apply.

Step 4

Take a flat eye shadow brush or just your index finger [make sure you use a sanitizer if you are using your fingers] to swipe the eye shadow from the pan and pat it on your lids till the crease. Keep patting and spreading a bit until you cover your entire lids with the color evenly. Don't pull or drag while applying as it might only ruin the even application, be very light handed when you do the spreading.

Do not worry if you have gone beyond the lids and if you had made a mess around as we will clean it up in the next step.

Step 5

Take a Q tip / Ear Bud and wipe the excess eye shadow. You can see that I have applied it more to the right so I am cleaning all that and few fall outs on my lower lash line with a Q tip. Your eye shadow should be within the imaginary line that diagonally joins the end of the upper lash line and the end of your eye brows.

Step 6

You can apply a little loose powder around the areas where you have cleaned up.

Step 7

Soften all the sharp edges of the eye shadow with a blending brush or your pinky finger. Now the eyes is ready for all the glam and drama to be added :)

Step 8

Apply kajal in your water line by swiping the kajal back and forth until you get the intense black line. I stop with this. You might go till the lower lash line if you wish.

Step 9

Line your upper lash line with a black eye liner, go close to the upper lashes else the gap would be prominent. I have used the amazing Hyper sharp liner by Maybelline. Will review that pretty soon. It is an amazing liner for beginners. I have winged out the liner however you can stop till the end if you wish. Thickness of the liner is also one's personal choice. Will do a separate post on how to do winged eye liner :)

Step 10

Apply mascara on the upper and lower lashes. Be very careful and slow while doing it so that you do it with perfection and at the same time not poke your eyes. You can see the dramatic change these 3 steps has made to the eye !

Step 11

Fill in your brows with a eye brow pencil or any dark brown matte eye shadow. Use very little product to fill in the brows as if you go too much it will look pathetic :(

Step 12

That is all ! You are ready to go :)
