Easy Step By Step Winged Eye Liner / Cat Eye Liner : Tutorial

I have been waiting for my eye brows to be done back to normal so that I can do this tutorial for all you girls who still think the winged eye liner look is not an easy job. We all knew that this rocked the Cannes Film Festival this time and I can't do this picture tutorial at a more appropriate time. Will you believe me if I say this is really really easy and you can do this with just one single product and that is the fabulous Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner. Without taking much time, here is the step by step tutorial for all my readers :)

Products Used :

  • Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner - You can use any liner you are comfortable with, be it liquid or gel.
  • Q Tip dipped in a Moisturizer [Johnson's Cream] - I can't do any eye makeup without these as these play a major role in doing corrections.
  • Moisturizer - I have used the MAC Studio Moisture Fix Lotion.
  • Foundation/ Tinted Moisturizer/ BB Cream - Garnier BB Cream
  • Compact / Pressed Powder - Maybelline Clear Glow All in One Compact
  • Brow Pencil from Estee Lauder
  • Mascara - I have used MAC Zoom Lash.
  • Kajal [Not in pic] - Maybelline Colossal Kajal
  • MAC 219 Pencil Brush [Optional]

Step 1

Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize your face. Apply a base like a BB cream or any foundation and set it with a pressed powder. I haven't used any eye shadow beneath, you can do your eye make up and then follow these steps.

Step 2

Line your eyes with a black liner as close as possible to the upper lash line. Do it in many small strokes than in one single stroke ! You can use any liner you are comfortable with, I have used the Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner.

Step 3

Keeping your lower lash line as a reference draw a line diagonally that starts at the end of upper lash line  extending towards the brow end. The length depends on how lengthy or small you need it. I have drawn a mid length line.

Step 4

Now draw a small triangle that joins the upper lash line as shown in the pic below. Keep correcting the mistakes as and when needed with a Q tip dipped in a moisturizer.

Step 5

Now fill the triangle and you have almost got the winged eye liner :)

Step 6

From this step it is my way of enhancing the look ! You can add in your creativity and do as per your liking. Now starting from the winged side I am making the liner a bit thick so that the entire line's thickness grows gradually from the inner corner of the eyes till the winged end.

I have also lined the lower lash line with a kajal and smudged it using the MAC 219 pencil brush. Fill your brows as well and give it a defined shape and natural color.

Step 7

Use a mascara to define your lashes and add more glam to the entire look. Apply loose powder around your eyes to freshen up the look and you are done ! Yippee !

Hope you liked the tutorial and hope it was useful too :) Will come up with another tutorial soon :)
