When the Maybelline 14 hr stay lipsticks were launched I was eyeing a couple of colors from the range and unfortunately I didn't like them much when I tried it at the counters. After a couple of days the Revlon SA asked me to try their new launch - 16 hr stay lipsticks which looks very similar to the Maybelline ones [packaging wise] but when I swatched them they looked more glossy and soft when compared to the dry and thick Maybelline lipsticks. I bought just one shade from their collection and read on to know how it turned out to be !
The Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede lipsticks go sheer on one swipe and I had to apply a couple of times more to give full color and a opaque finish. This is the worst lipstick I have tried so far ! Yes, it just sucks all the moisture from my lips and leaves my lips extremely dry and flaky in less than an hour. I have heard that the Maybelline ones were drying too but I am sure it wouldn't have been as bad as this one for sure. The color does last really really long but what is the use, it becomes totally flaky and dryyyyyyyyy that you can't ever imagine.
- The color lasts easily for 10+ hours leaving a strong stain on the lips.
- Wide range of colors to choose from.
- Easily available.
- It completely sucks all the moisture from my lips in less than an hour after application.
- It feels like plastic being rubbed on my lips.
- Makes my lips extremely dry and flaky.
The price of Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede Lipstick is Rs.650 for 2.55 g.
|LOTD - Soon after application..|
Fortunately I have never tried a bad lipstick so far and I would say this would be the first and the last one. I am sure no one would make such a super drying lipstick ever ! and wonder why Revlon being the makers of Colorburst range made such a horrible product. Don't even try it at the counters unless you want to hurt your lips very badly. It took me one full day to bring back my lips to the usual form.
