Salt Scrub for Feet : DIY

You would have heard a lot about salt scrubs and also that they are really expensive! Can you forget those heavenly smelling ones used in our spa sessions? Well, I have always wondered what goes into that amazing scrub used in our spas that smells so amazing and works well at the same time. During a casual conversation with my aunt she mentioned about the salt scrub she makes at home and asked me to try the same. It worked so well on my feet that my super dry feet now feels so soft like that of a baby's !! Always wanted to share it with you girls here and after a long time I got the time to do it :)

This is one of the most simplest DIY and you can make this scrub with some basic products available in your kitchen !

What do you need to make this Foot Scrub?
  1. Oil - I have used 2 Tbsp of Olive Oil here, you can use any oil like Almond Oil, Coconut Oil or a mixture of these.
  2. Salt - I have used 1 Tbsp of salt available in my Kitchen.
  3. Essential Oil - You can use the one you like - lavender, peppermint, vanilla according to your taste. I have used few drops of Rose Essential Oil for its fragrance and at the same time for its effect on my dry skin.
  4. Bowl & Spoon - Take a clean, dry bowl and spoon and mix all the ingredients mentioned above.

How to make the foot scrub?

Mix all the products listed above and scrub them on your feet in circular motion for 5 mins at least. Do not wash with soap [as the oil in the feet will get absorbed eventually] but just with plain warm water and pat dry. You can feel instantly soft and smooth feet. The salt exfoliates the dead skin on the surface and the oil moisturizes you feet totally. Rose Essential Oil has the added benefits of its amazing effects on dry and mature skin !! You need not follow with a moisturizer.

You can make this scrub just before you go for your bath or you can even make a little more and store it to last for a week / month. I use to make this one and store it in a tiny jar. This is a great gift for your close ones. A simple personalized [i add a mixture of oils based on their skin type] gift that my friends totally love and they always demand me to send some more :) Every time I make one I try different fragrances and they think I am making different scrubs everytime ;) Lol ! Use a clean, dry spoon to mix them well as the salt tends to settle down in the jar and take the required product. This is how I pack it before I send it for my close friends and relatives.

  • Removes all dirt and dead skin from your feet.
  • Moisturizes your feet.
  • Keeps you feet soft and smooth for a long time.
  • Instantly gives a baby soft skin.
  • Easy to make and use. Maintains a kissable feet when used regularly !!

Hope you liked this simple DIY. I request you all to try this simple scrub to keep your feet soft during the monsoons and do share your views on this.
