Do you actually take some time and prepare yourself a bit before shopping?
I do !
Having so many shopping malls to choose from, the one with my favorite brands comes first and the next thing would be the Sales Associates [SA] or Make Up Artists [MUA]. The more comfortable I am with an SA the more frequent and more happy I would be to go to that mall. A MUA from a luxury brand has always been very sweet and I meet her whenever I go to the mall. During one such meeting we had a long discussion about the general attitude of SAs and MUAs and I would like to talk about it a little here today.
Something that I noticed over years is that the SAs/MUAs don't really like it when you say you know about the brand well !! They either argue with us to prove us wrong somewhere or they just refuse to help us in anyway. Of course this doesn't happen much with MUAs but SAs do feel bad when you say you know a lot about their brand and you say you don't need their assistance ! I experience this attitude at least once every time I go for shopping. Do you feel the same?
My second concern is with the MUAs. When they suggest you a product, say A over B and you choose B they are unhappy ! Since I am very regular in the malls they remember me very well and they give a frustrated or unhappy look when they see me !!! I will be glad only if I buy what I like and not what they say. Does this happen to you too?
It is good that SAs and MUAs have more knowledge about the brand and their products compared to how they were a decade ago but that doesn't mean we should blindly go by what they say nor we have to please them in any way. One of my friend literally makes it a point to buy at least one product suggested by the SA to please her !!
Is the rule getting reversed here?
SA should please the customer or the customer should please the SA ????? !!!!!!!
