My Hair Care Routine !

I am a person who always feels less is more, be it make up or skin care or even hair care. I don't confuse myself and my skin with too many products ! You would have known it by now if you have seen my simple Skin Care Routine HERE. Similarly I follow a simple hair care routine too and I am more happy with the results I see on my hair when compared to the results on my skin ! I am so happy I came across all these products that actually saved my hair. Here are the products lined up for your notice.

My Hair Care Routine !

Before I tell you what change these products brought in my hair I'll share this little history/story about my hair. I have colored my hair once a year like 4 times and rebonded/straightened/smoothened [however they kept changing the names !] once a year like 8 times so far. I had normal wavy hair and I actually didn't need all these at all but the age tempted me to try a lot of such treatments and when I let my original hair grow back, it was not even half as good as how it used to be. It was a total shock to me and that is when I understood the impact of so many chemicals on my hair. I lost a lot of hair and occasionally dandruff used to kill me too !

So when my hair was thinning down so badly with a whole bunch of hair being lost during my hair wash, I was literally in tears !! I first got rid of the dandruff to see if the hair fall was because of dandruff. So I went for frequent hair spa sessions and used the Wella SP Clear Scalp Lotion [Dandruff] and Balance Scalp Lotion [Hair Fall] on alternate days. This helped me get rid of my dandruff totally ! You can see the detailed review of these lotions HERE. If you want me to review the Clear Scalp Lotion I shall review it soon. I use this every day before bed time alternating between the two.

After using these lotions I still had little hair loss and the areas where there was extensive hair loss never regained the hair back !! I was very scared if I will go bald !! That is when I was advised to use an hair oil regularly. I chose the Forest Essentials Bhring Raj Oil which helped me to a large extent. I never got dandruff after I started using this oil. You can find the detailed review HERE. My hair fall reduced significantly and at the same time I saw little hair growing back on the areas where I lost a lot of hair !!! This was a real miracle. I used to oil my hair regularly every time before I washed my hair, which is thrice a week. I leave the oil to stay on my hair for 30 mins after which I washed it wish a normal shampoo and conditioner. If you follow the instructions on the packaging [heating oil and hot towel wrap] definitely it would be more effective but being a mom I really don't find time for all these special treatments :(

Impressed with the oil, I wanted try a shampoo and conditioner from the same brand. I chose the Mashobra Honey and Vanilla range of Hair Cleanser and Hair Conditioner. The same has been reviewed HERE and HERE respectively. The cleanser and conditioner helped my hair a little more making them more manageable.

Once or twice a month I pamper my hair with masks like egg white, hibiscus paste and other famous natural home made hair packs for shine and frizz control.

This combo has been helping my hair so well to recover from the damage caused over years !! I don't get dandruff at all and I am noticing significant hair growth. Hair Fall is well under control. Meanwhile I visited my dermatologist for my hair concerns and she has prescribed me some vitamin tablets and a hair serum. After using them for at least 2 months I shall share the reviews here.

Sorry for this long post but I couldn't make it shorter !

    1. I just soak the hibiscus leaves in hot water for 30 minutes and then grind them coarsely and apply it all over my hair. My mom used to add little fenugreek with this and grind it together. I let it be in my hair until it becomes dry (approx 1 Hr) and then wash it with normal shampoo and 'no' conditioner. The process makes your place really messy :(

  4. A lot of my hair problems were arrested after I used Forest Essential Hair products. After having a baby, I went through a terrible hair fall phase and my hair is getting back to its shape now. WIll have to start using FE products again. And do review the lotion. Would like to know more about it :)
