MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Dark : Photos, Review

I never had any other face powder in my shopping list once I tried the sheer pressed powder by MAC but people around me highly recommended me to try the Studio Fix powder and Mineralize Skinfinish one. I wanted a change from the sheer pressed powder (though I loved it totally) so I thought of trying the MSF. Most of the reviews I read were positive but it all started with a confusing note. I was not too sure too, however you will know more about my opinion in today's review.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Description

The powder comes in a baked form and available in 8 shades, so you will definitely get one that suits you easily. For my skin tone both Medium Dark and Dark looked the same on me ! I ended up with Dark as Medium Dark was out of stock. I used a kabuki to apply it on my face and I couldn't see anything at all. So I took some more and applied it again but nothing could be seen. I repeated the same but there was no difference at all ! - Yes, this is a low coverage powder that would look just like your skin with little coverage to even out minor imperfections, if any. Few said this imparts a glow and brightness but I never noticed anything of that sort on my skin. I am neither disappointed nor excited about the product, which was raved by many.

  • The powder comes in a baked form and it lasts forever.
  • 8 shades to choose from and you will definitely find a shade for you.
  • Easily available in all MAC stores.
  • It just blends in the skin and feels like second skin.
  • This is the ideal face powder for those who are looking for just an even coverage.
  • Does not look cake -y at all and it is great for touch-ups.

Dislikes
  • It actually doesn't bring any significant difference to my face. I just expected a subtle glow but I couldn't notice anything at all !
  • Does not come with a mirror/ an applicator.
  • It doesn't do anything to my skin skin during summers.

Verdict

This powder might not be the one for dry-combination skin but might work really well on oily skin - observation from other reviews. I am not impressed with this much and I don't think I have any strong reason to repurchase the same. However, it does help set my foundation without being cake-y and I do use this mostly for touch ups. You can be sure with the application even without a mirror as this is totally natural and that is why you don't find a swatch here too ! If you want to look absolutely without makeup but still need a setting powder then this is the one for you.

  4. hi,I have been using the same DARK shade for more than a year .whenever u have a good skin day u just dab this and u rock.It has a finely milled shimmers that won't impart any coverage to the skin but u could notice it whenever u wear it for evening or night out.just apply ur tinted moisturiser apply this which I usually do.I like this beauty.the con is It would have provided with a applicator.

  8. Guess it's better to use as a setting powder..when you don't want a cakey powdery look but no shine kinds...but ya, with my oily skin, I might as well not bother :| I will be shiny disco ball in no time ..that too in Chennai weather :D

I think you should have taken medium-dark, though..at least it might have given a brightening effect...no?

And in case you are wondering..yup yup..am on a comment marathon catching up on old posts hehehehheheeeeeee..I hope you don't mind :P I do read through the posts but don't get time to comment so much :(
