Femina Salon and Spa [January 2014] : Photos, Review

When I wanted to read magazines the first one my mom got for me was Femina ! I was stunned by the variety of topics they covered that answered queries of a girl in her teens, women in their 20s, 30s, 40s and even 50s ! I always found the magazine very interesting and going through the glossy pages gave me the feeling that I was a grown up and I am old enough to read a magazine with my evening cup of milk [then !]. When I got a chance to review the new 'Femina Salon and Spa' magazine, why would I say a 'No'?

Femina Salon and Spa [Jan 2014]

Femina launched their Femina Salon and Spa magazine last year in December and the one I will be reviewing today is their second issue - Jan 2014. The cover girl is none other than the gorgeous Aditi Rao Hydari !

As the name of the magazine suggests I expected a lot of hair care and hair styling ideas along with some great spa options and up to date information regarding all these. The magazine did meet my expectations with some added surprises too. First of all let me share all the main topics covered in this magazine.

Get The Look

This interesting section shows us 5 cute hair styles done on Aditi Rao along with tips and tricks to attain the same. They made it so easy-peasy for us. Also Aditi Rao shares her beauty secrets to us like this one - "I oil my hair with virgin coconut oil every week, and try to go for a hair spa at least once in three weeks".

I got super excited when I saw the topic , yes it is all about makeup ! I learnt some amazing graphic looks with different ways of applying eye liners along with appropriate product suggestions too. Trust me they are totally mind blowing !! This follows with an interview with the makeup expert Bobbi Brown. I completely enjoyed going through this section. Finally there is a Q&A session here as well with the expert Ojas Rajani answering our queries.

As I was flipping through the pages I was dying to read about Spas in India and in this issue they have featured two good spas - one in Mumbai and one in Delhi. There is a detailed article about Lavender and how it became the most sought-after spa ingredients ! I have never been a fan of the fragrance but this article made me crave for a spa session with lavender oils. Finally this section ends with an insight in to the spa business as the MD of Rudra, the most popular spa in Mumbai opens up.

The topics covered here are really wide and I am glad they included makeup and beauty in their salon and spa edition, without which I feel it would have been incomplete. Here they share some tips and tricks with hair coloring, styling, salons that offers those services, the art of prosthetic makeup and finally 2 looks created at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 created by an MAC makeup artist.
